About me

I have just recently found a passion for taking pieces of furniture that need a little love and transforming them; giving them a completely new look; turning them into something that is unique and can't be found in every store.

My first dresser, that I tackled while giving my daughter's bedroom a room makeover, was done with primer and glaze.  Since then, I've discovered Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, and I use it on almost all my projects.  Of course you know I had to try the do-it-yourself chalk paint first, but after trying the real thing I will never try to to make my own chalk paint again. 

I love my new hobby and I love the new pieces of furniture that I customize for my home and my tastes. But as a hobby, it often takes a backseat to the rest of my life -- taking care of my two daughters (12 and 6), their crazy busy schedules (especially during softball season!!), my full time job as a marketing manager for a technology company, and spending time with my honey.

There are a few projects that was able to start and finish in a weekend, and others that have taken several months to finish.  I didn't realize when I stared that I would enjoy refinishing furniture so much, but before I realized it I had a fast growing list of finished work.  As I continue to complete new projects, I find myself wanting to share before and after pics, but as the project list grows I find it much tougher to share the pics by text or email, so I decided to create a place where I can share my project pics with friends and family.
